The introduction of the Cyber Security and Resilience Bill (CSRB) to UK Parliament under the guidance of Kanishka Narayan, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Cybersecurity and AI, marks a pivotal moment for our nation’s digital future.

This is more than legislation – it is a wake-up call for organisations of all sizes and sectors.

What’s changing:

  • A broadened scope of NIS regulations covering more critical sectors and services
  • Mandatory incident reporting and faster breach transparency
  • Stronger regulatory powers with significant penalties for non-compliance
  • Clearer emphasis on supply chain resilience and secure-by-design practices

For businesses, the signal is clear: cybersecurity is no longer a back-office IT matter. It is a strategic, customer-facing differentiator – and the CSRB raises the stakes for those who treat it as anything less.

At BlockAPT, I see this as both a challenge and an opportunity:

  • A challenge because compliance without culture change will always fall short.
  • An opportunity because organisations that embrace resilience as a competitive advantage will win trust, protect reputation, and unlock growth.

So, what’s my own perspective?

💡  Cyber resilience must no longer sit in the background. It must be designed into every customer journey, embedded into brand value, and woven into the DNA of every product we bring to market.

💡 Sales and growth leaders must reframe security. It is not an optional feature or a competitive add-on – it is the foundation of enduring customer trust, market credibility, and sustainable growth.

💡 The organisations that will lead the next decade will not be those that simply “comply.” They will be the ones who transform regulatory pressure into a strategic advantage, setting a new benchmark for resilience and trust in their industries.

As this Bill takes shape, I wonder if leaders, Boards, and innovators alike are confronting a challenging question:

👉 Will we treat cybersecurity as a minimum obligation – or will we seize this moment to redefine it as the ultimate driver of trust, value, and industry leadership?

The CSRB is a milestone – but I am a strong believer that it is our collective action that will determine whether the UK becomes a global model for cyber resilience.

Cyber resilience is no longer a cost of doing business – it is the currency of trust. Those who embrace it boldly today will define the competitive landscape of tomorrow.
